PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Events and Acitvities: I hope you will join us for a plethora or events for the remainder of this year. Sunday, October 11 our Annual Wheaten Fun Day at Woodley Park Sunday, October 18th join us as our Wheatens have an opportunity to give sheep herding a try. A flyer was sent out recently. Sunday, December 6: Holiday Dinner at Beckham Grill, an invitation will be coming to you in November with more details. Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 13: Eukanuba Shows and Meet the Breed booth. Gratitude: Did you know: Karla Cohen was honored by SCWTCA as Sportsman of the Year? We are proud of her and is a fitting award. Note this is a national award. Bonney Snyder worked on 5 rescues in one day in late September? She makes it look easy with her ease of matching homes, some of you as contacts whom we are grateful to for assisting, and countless phone calls she makes daily. We have numerous quiet heroes and heroines amongst us who plan our events (Jill Steging, Beverly Streicher, Connie Koehler for our October events), send out our announcements to you in creative and thorough formats (Joan Johnson), are already busy at work on decorations for the 2010 specialty with much time and their own cost (Joan Johnson, Caroline Filling and Mike Smith). I did not mention all! Thanks and we are thinking of you: We thank you and many other devoted club members not mentioned here. In these difficult economic times and much going on with club members (some have suffered severe human and/or dog losses this year, some are ill, and others have issues we may not be aware of); hug your Wheatens and reach out to us if needed!
