2008: We had several successful events and happenings during this year including but not limited to:

     ● Hands on grooming seminar: The weather was hot but we did not let that stop us from picking up the scissors with some guidance.

     ● Herding event: Moving one step closer to certification, some Wheatens truly showed the herding instinct.

     ● Meetings that had guest speakers who talked about nutrition, first aid, health issues. At some meetings, we simply socialized after taking care of business.

     ● SB 1634: We gave funds and time to helping fight this bill.

     ● Pet Fair: We had representation at the April Pet Fair.

     ● B Match in conjunction with the GWTA B Match.

     ● The Crufts winner was a Wheaten!

     ● Meals and Snacks: We ate well with pot lucks and excellent hospitality at all of our events.

     ● Fun Day: With a successful DNA clinic to help the health of our breed.

     ● Rescue: saving Wheatens who were found or displaced from their primary residence. Over 30 Wheatens were placed this year.

     ● Litters and onto the rainbow bridge: Some of our club member dogs had litters, and on a sad note, some lost a four-legged friend this year. We empathize with you.

     ●  Another successful year of our publication “WOOF”.

     ●  Lovely and informative meeting announcements that go out monthly.

     ● Great Western with a theme of “I See Wheatens in Your Future.”

     ● Successful Holiday dinner meeting.

 

So let’s look forward to the future and the year 2009:

     ● AHBA Herding Certiciation Leg One on January 18

     ● Eye clinic in February

     ● Independent specialty in June

     ● Several activities to be arranged

 

Without our membership, these activities would not have been possible. Donations from club members in the way of food, monies and/or other things are well appreciated. So in the coming year, we know times are hard. Reduce your stress and come to our events, meetings. We meet the third Tuesday of every month; meeting notices are always sent to you with plenty of time to spare.
